我國黨和政府歷來十分重視印刷技術(shù)的發(fā)展，中國***第十二次代表大會提出建設(shè)高度物質(zhì)文明的同時要努力建設(shè)高度的社會主義精神文明，對印刷工業(yè)提出了更高的要求。
為了貫徹中共中央、國務(wù)院關(guān)于加強出版工作的決定，推動我國印刷工業(yè)的技術(shù)改造和印刷技術(shù)的發(fā)展北京印刷包裝展會，1984年，經(jīng)過國務(wù)院批準，由中國國際貿(mào)易促進委員會和國家經(jīng)委聯(lián)合主辦的**屆北京國際印刷技術(shù)展（CHINA PRINT）在全國農(nóng)業(yè)展覽館成功舉辦。經(jīng)政府決定，北京國際印刷技術(shù)展覽會將每四年舉辦一次，現(xiàn)已成功舉辦了八屆。
三十年的風雨兼程，CHINA PRINT與中國印刷業(yè)共成長，與中國印刷業(yè)同仁一起登上了國際大舞臺。CHINA PRINT 不再僅僅是中國印刷的民族品牌，更是全球印刷界的饕餮盛宴。
